PE Limited - IPM/MOVE

IPM

The Integrated Production Modelling software (IPM) models oil or gas production systems including reservoir, wells and the surface network. The software suite consists of the following programs:

  • PROSPER Well Modelling and Design
  • MBAL Reservoir Analytical Simulation
  • PVTP Fluid Characterisation
  • GAP Multiphase Network Optimisation
  • REVEAL Specialised Reservoir Simulator& Near Wellbore Reservoir Simulator
  • RESOLVE Integrated Production Controller

The suite will be used in the course TPG 4230 ”Field Development and Operations”. It is also used in other courses, and student projects and thesis. The software is installed on the computers in the data teaching laboratory.

MOVE

Software for data integration and interpretation, cross-section digitization and 3D model building using seismic, well and other data (link).

Donation

NTNU/IGV has signed an ”Educational License Agreement” with PE Limited, Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. PE Limited has donated 10 licenses each of IPM and MOVE available for academic use free of charge. The commercial value for 2025 is £4,580,000.

Conditions for use

  • Educational licenses are to be used for academic research and educational purposes only.
  • No form of commercial work is permitted using this software.
  • Educational licenses can only be used by students while on the NTNU premises, on controlled NTNU systems. Remote access from outside NTNU premises is not authorized.
  • All publications, posters and presentations must be acknowledged, e.g.: “The author acknowledges the use of the IPM and/or MOVE Software Suite granted by PE Limited”.
