Friday September 7th 2012 Hongbo Zhou will give two lectures in seismic inversion and imaging. Hongbo Zhou is Head of Exploration Research in Statoil Gulf Serives, Houston, Texas. He holds a M.S. degree in Computational Mathematics, and a Ph.D. in Geosciences. His research interest is in seismic depth imaging and high performance computing.

In addition, Prof. Børge Arntsen will give a talk on seismic inversion.

10:15-10:35: Imaging challenges in the Gulf of Mexico and the development of reverse time migration
10:45-11:15: Full waveform inversion
11:20-11:40: Full waveform inversion in the image and data spaces, by Prof. Børge Arntsen
