Installation information can be found in 'install.txt' This document will inform you about GCL 3.0 in general, and how to use it.
What is GCL 3.0 / History
GCL 3 is a small linux distro based on basiclinux 1.x and slackware 3.5. It is small because it does not come with a lot of software, only basic apps are included. Development started 1.5 years ago, with a slightly modified basiclinux distro, called gcl 1.0. Today GCL 1.9 is the latest floppy version. GCL has 3 major versions, 1, 2 and 3. 1 is a floppy version. 2 a umsdos console version and 3 is a version with a GUI. This is the first public release of GCL 3.0

This software also runs in the GUI (and can be executed from rxvt or xterm) but is not included in the 'start menu' Altough it can be added to it, by using the control panel.

Configuring GCL
Information on using GCL is displayed on your screen when you log in, but you need to configure some things first:
* Run xf86config to set up the GUI. GCL
includes the VGA16 and SVGA server
* Run pppsetup to set up your dialup connection
* Run Netscape (from GUI) or mail (From console), to set up E-mail.
That's it!
To start the GUI, use:
mouse
startx
