Masterlandsbyen 2008
TPG5200 Petroleum Engineering and Geoscience - Interdisciplinary Project
Objective:
Apply your petroleum knowledge and develop teamwork skills by solving real-life
problems faced by StatoilHydro on the Gullfaks field.
The problems include both evaluation of new technologies,
and traditional problems like geology, drilling, production, reservoir evaluation and simulation.
Each group selects one of the problems and your results will be presented at the end of the
semester, including a technical report. You can find a short introduction to Gullfaks
here
(and a more in-depth intro
here).
The groups have 4-6 members where you will develop your skills in communication
and cooperation; this is similar to what you will experience in an oil company where you will
work together with people with different backgrounds and personalities. Each group will make a
process report which should include reflections about the team interaction by assessing one's
own and others' behaviour, and how this influences the teamwork. A student assistant will help
you with the group process.
