1.1 Integrated Drilling Simulator with Virtual Wellbore

Objective(s)

  • Integrated drilling Simulator with 3D Visualization shall be demonstrated and tested in order to show value creation and increased safety.
  • Well stability and pore pressure models should be integrated into the real time environment
  • Improved drilling procedures to enhance data quality and improve drilling performance.

Activities and deliverables

  • Demonstration of PPM and PSI in real time, Total well. Development and testing of improved methodology for the PPM manager and demonstrate the use of wellbore stability model PSI.
  • Demonstration and improvement of PPM and PSI on historical data (Statoil data)
  • Demonstration and improvement of IDS on floating installation (Statoil data). The main goal is to demonstrate the performance of IDS and secondly, to further improve heave handling.
  • Further demonstration with focus on improved calibration routines
  • Report from literature study of bit performance and rate off penetration modelling. Plan to make a paper within spring 2010
  • Conference or Journal paper on real time utilizing of Well Stability model
  • Report describing methods for handling of heave while using IDS and general analyses of operation using IDS
  • Report on the effect of improved calibration routines
  • PhD Project: “An ROP Model for Integrated Operations”
