Cooperation with Mitsui for gas technology
Aker Kvaerner and Mitsui of Japan have
signed a cooperation agreement for research and development of natural gas
hydrate technology. Transporting gas in the form of natural gas hydrate is a
promising method for bringing gas from remote fields to the market in a safe
and cost-effective way. Professor Jon Steinar Gudmundsson has been key researcher in the
development and is co-owner of the
company Natural Gas Hydrate AS, which will develop the technology
commercially.
