Cooperation with Mitsui for gas technology

Aker Kvaerner and Mitsui of Japan have signed a cooperation agreement for research and development of natural gas hydrate technology. Transporting gas in the form of natural gas hydrate is a promising method for bringing gas from remote fields to the market in a safe and cost-effective way. Professor Jon Steinar Gudmundsson has been key researcher in the development and is co-owner of the  company Natural Gas Hydrate AS, which will develop the technology commercially.
